This would take the donations from local businesses and the Mayor of Omaha making rounds to each park. Each park would have the same events. They could be sack races, tug of war, foot races, pie eating, hot dog eating contests, how about who can text the fastest, golf putting contest. You get the idea. Where the businesses come in with what they donate are the prices of the events. Or to supply an event with like pies, for the pie eating, or hot dogs for the that contest. Some could supply refreshments. The businesses contribute to the neighborhood park that their business is located by of course. Now for the Mayor making his rounds to each park with a time that he'll arrive so that if some one wants to meet him they can. Also could have a couple tables set up with a group of chairs to have the people of that neighbor hood to be able to ask questions to or be informed from their neighborhood police officer, firefighter, garbage collector, OPPD worker, MUD worker, Dog Catcher, Cable Guy, Neighborhood Association President, Community Center representative and of course their neighborhood clergymen and a park official. Then at the end of the summer, each park puts together a team to compete against the other parks for a championship with a price of money that would be used to benefit the winners park. Most of the events would be more for the young adults and up. The kids can play in the park or watch their moms and dads competing, or teens from the neighborhood could get together to run some children events.
