Just a thought. With the large obelisk at Stinson Park and the Light Tower at UNMC it may be cool to start marking other parks in the city with obelisks or design towers. It can become a sort of Omaha tradition. They don't all have to be the size or scale of the one that exists. Just something to have a common theme throughout our park system. Have simple ones maybe 6 feet tall in the lower profile parks and commission artists to design ones for higher profile parks like The Mall, Memorial, Turner Park ect. |
