Many of our public gardens in Omaha are already maintained by volunteers. For example, The South Omaha Horticultural Society maintains the Bailey Wye Garden at the Zoo, and Douglas County Master Gardeners maintain gardens at several public sites like the County Hospital and Heartland of America Park. Neighborhood Association volunteers also maintain many of our public gardens. You can find out more at the Omaha Council of Garden Clubs web site http://omahagardenclubs.com/ and the Douglas-Sarpy Counties Extension Master Gardener Program web site http://douglas-sarpy.unl.edu/web/douglas-sarpy/master_gardener1.
